Valkyrie Drive Mermaid is a "battle action anime with beautiful sexy girls". Set on 5 islands, the protagonist, Mamori Tokonome is transferred to one of them. Mamori is attacked, and is saved by another new transfer, Mirei. However, they become cornered, and are about to give up the fight. It's then that they kiss each other, and this causes Mamori to transform into a sword which Mirei uses to fight against the enemy forces.
